Some great news surfaced yesterday with the announcement that Michelle Curry, the Orting school superintendent, has been named a semi-finalist for the “Superintendent of the Year” award by the National Association of School Superintendents (NASS).
Curry was chosen as one of six semi-finalists for a number of reasons, including improvements in K-5 scores and a number of administrative changes that are having a positive impact district-wide.
Not only is this news a pride booster for the Orting School District, but it also shows the city and its residents that although Orting is considered a small town, it has a solid and ever improving school system.
